"We could both decide on a favourite flower each?" He suggests with a laugh, calming his gelding and encouraging him to walk closer again.

"Aye, I remember - yes, I think it will make for a very nice stop!"

"We could," she agress. "Though I must see what flowers grow in Ithilien first. I would wish to choose one difficult to find, lest I be told of your love only rarely!"

His horse moves close enough again for her to capture Faramir's hand and kiss the fingers, and her lips linger a little on the knuckles. "A rest would do us all good, I am sure. We would not want to tire our horses."

An absurd idea, that a ride of a mere hour or two at gentle pace would tire either of their mounts, both trained for much harder riding than this. Clearly, that is but an excuse.

He chuckles.

"True. I could pick a rose, for you perhaps! They are not so rare nor common. And they are fair - a white one, to match your title perhaps, or red, for your passion."

[ooc: Drat, forgot a 'not' up there. She meant she shouldn't pick a rare flower, or else she'd only get it rarely!]

She laughs and shakes her head, turning Windfola towards their new destination. "No, not a rose. They are beautiful indeed, but everyone knows they stand for love! We will find something else, I am sure. But for now, we must settle for these."

She gestures at the wildflowers dotting the plains--spearwort and thrift, cowslips and sorrel, white and yellow and purple pools splashed against the green of the fields.

"That much is true." He agrees and looks around at the wildflowers appreciatively, and when they pull to a stop he slips down and gathers cowslip and sorrel to braid into a crown for her.

[[ooc: bonus, sorrel means 'affection' and cowslip? 'Along with the symbolism of “death”, “birth” and “doom”, the cowslip also means “adventure” and “mischief” which comes from this particular fable` ]]

She tends to their horses as he does this, making sure they are both well, then frees them to drink from the stream and graze awhile as she sits by her husband, openly bemused. "You anticipate me, I see." She plucks a cowslip herself and threads it into his hair, as his hands are occupied. "It quite suits you, my lord!"

He smiles at her, and offers her the crown solemly.

"Why thank you, my lady! I fear I have no idea what these flowers might symbolise, but the colors suit you well."

She bows her head for him to place the crown, her smile unshadowed and her face unlined by all cares. "'Affection', for the sorrel," she tells him, plucking a strand of sorrel and placing it behind his ear. "The cowslip's meaning depends more on context, so for now..."

She picks another cowslip, slides the bloom along Faramir's cheek. Their faces are only a few inches apart. "Adventure, mischief...the ability to find hidden things..." She glances down at his mouth, and unconsciously licks her lips. "Do you remember what I said I would do, when I first told you of this place?"

He tips his head into her hand to allow her to place the sorrel and smiles shyly.

"Mischief and adventure, hm?" He murmurs, coming closer and kissing her softly. "I think I vaguely remember, but I will very definitely need... reminding." He teases. "And definitely demonstration."

She chuckles quietly before kissing him again, and a third time. "Mm...I recall promising that you would not miss a mattress..."

"Hm, that does sound very familiar..." He agrees, kissing her and reaching for the laces on her dress.

"That sounds quite the challenge, don't you think?"

"It does," she agrees, leaning in and reaching for the ties on his tunic. "And I do enjoy a challenge."

"Then I await eagerly your instruction." He kisses her as he works on the laces, much easier in the daytime!

"You do not seem to be awaiting anything," she points out, much amused and pleased by his enthusiasm. Her own fingers are similarly busy with undoing the ties on his tunic, that she may pull it off. Her own dress comes undone easily--far more so than her wedding finery did!--and opens at the front.

"I am growing impatient, in my old age." He answers cheerfully, very pleased with how easy her dress is removed, shrugging out of his own tunic and pressing back in to kiss her again after.

She laughs gaily. "Yes, you are grown so much older since yesterday, when you last did this." She meets his kiss eagerly, pushing him down onto the hillside. As she promised, it is covered with soft clover as well as the wildflowers, and makes a comfortable trysting spot. The stream babbles merrily in the background as though it laughs with them, and the sun is warm.

"Much older and wiser, for now I have my helpmeet and lifemate by my side." He agrees with a laugh. "Although here we are in the midst of the wide world under the sky, and I might think us careless youths in the bloom of our lives."

"And are we not?" she retorts, leaning above him, eyes dancing with merriment. And indeed, clad only in a loose shift sliding off one shoulder, her hair radiant in the sunlight and crowned with the circle of flowers, she looks the very embodiment of spring.

Eowyn leans down and kisses him, her lips teasing at his. "We married each other in the sight of kith and kin yesterday. Shall we do so again under Eru's sky, in His sight, as we were once tempted to do?"

"I suppose we are!" He smiles up at her, the light turning her hair to gold.

"For not even Vana the Ever Young herself could look more fair at this moment." He twines a finger through her hair as he kisses her.

She chuckles again against his mouth, and would tease him for his flattery, but his mouth is warm against hers, the taste of him sweet, and they waited so long for freedom such as this...that freedom is intoxicating to her now, for many times they have made opportunities such as this and not been able to act on them as fully as they now may.

So she laughs and kisses him, then moves to sit astride his hips, leaning above him with her hands pressed to the clover on either side of his head. The shift rides up her legs, barely covering her hips. "How shall we wed, min heorte?" she muses, smirking. "Shall I ride you as I did this dawn?"

He curls fond hands along her legs, and up to her hips, moving her shift as he goes.

"I did enjoy that." He smiles up at her. "It gave me a most excellent view of thee."

"Mm, the view on my side is also most worth seeing..." Her smile softens a little with appreciation as she looks down at Faramir, at ease below her, his gaze openly admiring as he lies back on the hillside with his hair scattered around his head. She reaches up and brushes a few tendrils back from his forehead, her expression suddenly smug. "I am most fortunate among women, to have such a husband. Lúthien herself could not boast a better."

He laughs. "Then shall I be Beren, struck dumb by my Luthien's beauty?"

He's not exactly still though, still teasingly slowly lifting her shift.

She is very aware of his hands sliding up her legs, pulling the shift further up as they go. "Be my Beren," she says, leaning down. "And dance with me." She moves her hips suggestively against his as she kisses him, her tongue sliding into his mouth, a slow press of desire.
