She takes his arm willingly, walking close by him, as their horses graze or trot nearby. "As beautiful as you said, though overrun. I think it will take some time before they can reclaim their former glory." She smiles up at him. "We will have much to do. But already I can see why you fought so long and well to protect them, and why you wished to return."

For which she is grateful. Eowyn does not think she could have live happily or comfortably in Minas Tirith, not on a permanent basis, even with Faramir. She also doubts whether he could have, dearly as he loves it. Too many shadows yet linger, too many old griefs.

"Time and hard work." He agrees with a smile, and bends to kiss her, there under the sun.

"I am glad it suits you! I did not want this to be a place you felt trapped - I wanted us to be able to build happy memories, here."

She returns the kiss with pleasure, lingering a little as the wind blows warm around them. They are in the open, but private, with their guards far off in the distance, and need not fear prying eyes or interruption.

"I think we will." In fact, judging by the smile she gives him, Eowyn is sure of it. "As for feeling trapped, we do not yet know if we even have a roof to sleep under this night! But I do not fear hard work, or discomfort."

She reaches up and brushes her fingers along his cheek. "And you? Do you think you will be content, here?"

"I certainly hope we have a roof, or I will have to have firm words with our builders!" Faramir laughs, although he does not mind being outside any more than she does.

He leans into the hand and turns to kiss her palm.

"I have you beside me - I could be content anywhere."

"Anywhere?" Her laugh teases him. "Living in a tent on the wild plains of Rohan, or hidden deep away in a cave underground, or in the heart of Mordor itself? I think you exagerrate a little, my lord."

"Well." He grins at her. "Maybe not in Mordor. But a tent on the green plains of Rohan is not that terrible, it seems to me!"

Her smile turns grateful. "No," she agrees, then turns get face towards Emyn Arnen. "And yet... I think I am glad to have a new beginning. Somewhere free of old constraints and old shadows."

She loves her homeland fiercely, but...some wounds are not easily healed.

His hand reaches over to tangle in hers as he comes to stand beside her, looking out over the lands that are now theirs.

"A new beginning - a new home."

She rests her head on his shoulder, marveling silently at his height, as she often has. She is counted tall among her people, the true granddaughter of Morwen Steelsheen, but Faramir is taller yet. "Where shall we begin?" she asks, less playful now.

She's the perfect height for this sort of snuggle, and Faramir enjoys it greatly, using the opportunity to wrap his arms around her.

"I was thinking, once we have a roof over our heads, we could look into more of the outbuildings. I would like a Healing hall here, too. A big stable, of course. Perhaps a library?"

His embrace is warm and Eowyn fits well into it, and is never more content than when he holds her. It is still a wonder to her that such is possible, much less that they have achieved it. "Of course a library. You could not do without one." She laughs at him, just a little. "Legolas has promised to visit and design our gardens, but that will not be for a while yet."

"I might waste away without my books." He agrees with a grin. "Although I was thinking about attaching a sun room to the library... wouldn't it be nice, to sit together in the mornings, perhaps with a book, and have breakfast?"

He kisses her cheek fondly. "Did you have anything specific plans you wanted yourself?"

"Indeed you might, and we could not have that," she says, with mock-gravity, her eyes twinkling. "A sun room does sound pleasant. You could read poetry to me, and I would recite our tales back to you." She can read, of course, but the Rohirrim prefer oral recitation. Eowyn has some taste for both.

"And then I would see you every morning, before our various responsibilities call us away." She favors that idea, it is clear. "We will need a Healing Hall. There are still bands of the Enemy roving, and peace is yet something to strive for rather than something we have obtained. Though it seems otherwise this day." She tilts her face up to the sun. "I have learned much during the past year, but I have more yet to learn. Still, I hope we will not have too much to do in that regard. That we will have only smaller, household illnesses to treat, rather than grievous injury. I should have a small garden of my own, perhaps. I was given a few seeds from our Healers in Rohan, herbs with some gifts for aiding recovery, that are not so common in Gondor. And athelas, of course."

Even if they themselves cannot use it, she will always plant athelas in any place she dwells. In honor of their king, and in memory of how they were both brought back from the dark by its grace.

"Every morning, before the day begins." He nuzzles against her fondly. "In the afternoons, if we have spare time. You could tell me some of your poetry!"

"I would like not to need a Healing Hall, but you are correct." He agrees. "Even should we clear out the orcs sufficiently, there will still be childhood accidents and other such things! I am sure we have space enough for a private garden."

"And you could teach me Sindarin. I once knew a little, but it was long ago and I have forgotten." She laughs and squeezes his hand, recalling a long-distant conversation. "I was not always attentive to my studies, I fear. But perhaps I will do better with you as my teacher."

"Only if you teach me Rohirric!" He bargains with her with a smile.

"Learning from each other will be more fun than from a tutor, I am sure."

"It could hardly be less," she agrees. "Though I fear it will be more difficult to outwit you, and so escape my lessons for a ride, or a bout of swordplay in the stables."

"Outwit me? Perhaps, and perhaps not - but I am guessing my lady has plenty of tricks I do not yet know!" He teases.

"Perhaps I will be far too distracted by your beauty to teach you anything?"

"Without doubt I do, though it will take clever trickery indeed to outwit a Ranger of Ithilien."

She leans up and kisses his cheek. "But surely after several months of marriage you will be used to my face, and in no danger of such distraction."

"I could never get used to you." He smiles at her and kisses her hand.

"Every moment, every day, is like a dream come true."

She has to stop and kiss him again at that, a reward for such sweet words and the best way she can show that she feels the same. Her arms wrap around his neck as she holds him as close as she may, not caring if anyone should see.

She laughs a little. "I think we may not accomplish much at all, if we remain so lost in each other. Perhaps our king should have given these duties to others."

Let them look, Faramir is always happy to have her here in his arms.

"Ah, this is true. Perhaps we will be required to not look at each other all day?"

"So when we meet in your sun room, we must be blindfolded?" She laughs and rests her head on his chest. "That will make reading difficult."

"Perhaps we shall have to develop a way of reading back to back?"

He grins and kisses her hair.

"But then I could not kiss you!" She squeezes his hands. "But come, be serious with me, for a little while. What might we need that we do not have? Or for what should we prepare? Many rooms for guests, I had thought, for I hope we shall have many friends come to visit."
