Because Eowyn knows her beloved very well, she does not take offense at this. "I expected some pain, but there was none." Once again that small breath of a laugh, as she caresses his face. "Perhaps our experiments served some use beyond our delight. But was it well for you?"

Truthfully she was too distracted by the end to notice, which seems a bit of a pity. She would have liked to see him overtaken by his own bliss.

He leans into her hand and sighs in relief, smiling as he shifts a little to make sure he's not squashing her too far.

"You were divine." He says in all sincerity. "It was very well."

She looks pleased, though in truth she did not doubt it, and caresses his face. "Divine is the word. If I had known it would feel thus..." She shakes her head a little, smiling. "Waiting would have been even more intolerable than it was, impossible though that seems."

Her heart swells again at the reminder that the wait is done, not merely in that they may now enjoy each other thus, but that they will not be parted again. This time when he leaves, she will go with him.

He smiles tiredly at her, turning to kiss her cheek softly.

"You speak wisdom! But now we are wed, my wife, and you have me, and may have me, as often as our duties allow."

"May I?" she asks, eyebrow arching a little. "You should perhaps beware what you offer, Man of Gondor, for I may tax you beyond your ability to perform..." She kisses him again, teasing, though in truth she is tired now also. It was a long day even before all this activity, and she was awake well before dawn to prepare for it.

He grins at her sleepily.

"Please note that I specified 'as our duties allow', for my beloved wife has just as many as I do, if not more!"

"Ah, but now this is one of our duties," Eowyn says with mock-solemnity, stroking his back, her eyes mirthful despite her lassitude. "To each other, and also to Gondor. For the Prince of Ithilien will need an heir, and there is only one way to get one."

"Well." He teases. "We could always adopt..."

She just looks at him. He is last of the House of Hurin, the line of the Rulng Stewards, and she is descended from Eorl himself. Even if their own pride did not demand their bloodlines continue, their respective countries' pride would. There are reasons alliances among the nobility are so closely watched and negotiated!

He can't help it, he bursts into laughter at the look on her face.

"Oh my love, you should see yourself!"

He is lucky her quick temper is blunted by being so pleasantly drained. She knows he but teases, but all the same..."Well, if you would prefer not to partake of such activities as would get me with child..."

He kisses her for that.

"Hardly. I think we shall indeed struggle not to do so!"

That is more appealing, as is the kiss, which she returns most willingly. "Mm. Then it is fortunate that we are granted a few days of privacy as a wedding gift, and may enjoy them as we wish without such a struggle being required."

He nuzzles her fondly.

"That is so. And none can now complain if I hold your hands and kiss you in public."

She makes a low, pleased sound, like a purr. "Or they may complain, but we are free to ignore them. Are your rules about kissing in public now lifted, then? In truth I did not mind them, only our lack of other opportunities."

He kisses her softly.

"Oh, very lifted. Except possibly in the council chamber, as I don't really wish to break them!"

Those soft kisses occupy her for a time. Once they had to be stolen, but now she may indulge in them as fully as she wishes, and does. Impossible to imagine growing tired of them. "Mm...but for all that I strained at the bit before, my heart, I will now be content to wait until we are alone and I have your full attention." She strokes his face. "We may lie with each other every night. A few kisses in the council chamber pale in comparison."

It was always about the difficulty of finding an opportunity, before. She has no desire at all to perform to public scrutiny. If they may sate themselves in the private hours, that will be enough. Probably enough. Though those large, broad council tables would provide...certain opportunities...

Suddenly the tradition of giving a new-wedded couple a few days of privacy makes more sense to Eowyn. It is less a gift to the couple and more a protection from them. She laughs against his mouth, from sheer delight at the future spreading out before her, before them.

He smiles as she laughs, pulling back a little so that he can look at her, tracing her cheek with a fond hand.

"And what makes you laugh so, my wife? The thought of discombobulating our poor senators?"

"Nay. It is only this." She kisses him again, joyful and exuberant. Their bodies are still entangled, bare skin along bare skin in an easy, comfortable intimacy that delights her. She rolls them over, so she is on top, her long hair draped down her back and over her shoulder as she kisses him. "Knowing that we may do this..." More kisses, sweet and addictive, her lips pulling at his. "Whenever we wish, for as long as we may live..."

She leans up just a little, enough that they may see each other's faces more fully. "I am so full of joy that it spills over like an overfull wineglass. That is why I laugh thus."

He doesn't protest the roll, using his new position to run his hands up along her side and enjoy the ability to touch her as they please, kissing her back.

"It is a joy more deep than I have words to tell." He agrees, nuzzling at her.

"My wife! What a wonderful phrase to be able to say - my life, my joy, my heart, my Eowyn."

"My Faramir," she murmurs, caressing his face. "My husband, my love, my light, my own..."

There are more kisses, and still she cannot have enough of them, enough of this moment. His body is warm under hers, lean but strong, and now wonderfully familiar to her. Every part of him is hers, as every part of her is his, and she smiles to think it, even as she nuzzles at his nose with hers.

He's tired, but so happy he cannot rest, pressing butterfly kisses and running gentle hands along her side.

"My Eowyn, my beautiful, wonderful wife." He murmurs. "I know we should sleep, but I can scarce bare to close my eyes."

She laughs again and leans up until she is bending over him. Gently she kisses his face, light touches of her lips, against cheek and forehead, jaw and mouth, and then both his eyelids. "I too hate to sleep, and let this end," she murmurs between kisses. "Even if this night is but a beginning, I wish we could yet linger in it."

His eyes flutter closed as she reaches his eyelids, blink open to gaze up at her in open adoration, his hands smoothing gently along her sides.

"And yet, we will both have to be awake early in the morn." He agrees with her. "Although fortunately beyond breakfast I do not think we are needed anywhere else."

"No one will blame us for being unable to think of anything save each other," she points out, her lips still curled into a smile against his skin. "It is expected of a new-bound couple."

More soft kisses, back down to his mouth, and then she sighs and rests her head on his chest once more. "And my brother and your king have granted us a few days' grace, to, as my brother put it, 'do your frolicking in private'. We do not even need to remain in Edoras, if we do not wish."

And the idea of a few days' worth of true privacy is even more tempting now than it was before, unlikely as that would have seemed.
