He uses the fact that she is in his arms again as an excuse to kiss her.

"I need no luxury." He agrees. "I have enough of silk and furs! The privacy is far more enticing."

He must lift her up off the ground a little to kiss her thus, and this she allows, even if it means they stop talking for a few minutes. Such a kiss is worth some delay.

But only some, and before long she presses at his shoulders so he will put her back on her feet, still smiling. "Come, or we will not reach it before nightfall. And I had thought you were impatient."

It is not so far away, in truth; if they need to be found it is easily done, the more so as it is reachable on foot. But Haleth has made it very clear that they are not to be interfered with, and she is not one to cross. Not even for the formidable sons of Feanor who might wish to tease their brother. Perhaps especially not by them.

The forest gives way to a quiet river in an open glade, near the top of a hill, giving them a clear view of the East where the sun will rise. In the glade is a large tent, and if it is not luxurious by the standards of Valinor, still it is luxurious for a tent, and well supplied. They can remain for at least a week if not more. She has even brought some of Caranthir's own embroidery materials, and her own cooking utensils, as well as bows and arrows for hunting game.

Of more immediate importance, the flap is open and shows that inside is a bedroll more than large enough for two, piled high underneath with enough rushes and furs to guarantee neither of them will feel it a hardship to sleep without a proper bed.

Haleth looks more than a little smug. They could have waited longer for their wedding, and given a year she might have built them a proper house, such as she eventually built for herself in the forest of Brethil. But what for? This has all they need and all they want. She looks up to see Caranthir's reaction not for approval so much as confirmation.

"Can I not be impatient for your kisses, also?" He teases, but obliginly sets her back down again.

His brothers are many things, but none are fool enough to mess with Haleth, he is sure. Himself, they are used to. But there are too many formidable females in the family for them not to be wary of Haleth.

He stops just inside to look around and his eyes are soft, when he spots the familiar shapes of her old tent long ago.

"It looks just like I remember." He murmurs, and then turns back to her with a wicked grin. "Although much more comfortable. Now, I belive it is customary to carry the bride over the threshold?"

The Haladin stopped living in tents once they found a more permanent settlement, but the memory this one summons is pleasing to them both. Haleth gives him a skeptical look. "We have no such custom. Is it so among your people? What a strange idea. What is the purpose of it? Or is this merely an excuse to put your arms around me once more?"

He grins at her.

"And what if it is just an excuse?"

Her smile is warm and affectionate. "You need none."

He laughs and swings her up into his arms, walking her across the threshold and kissing her.

"Well, if it isn't a tradition, I shall make it one!"

She wraps her arms around his neck as he lifts her, kissing him most willingly. It is easier from this position than others, that is certain, for suddenly the height difference between them is negated. "Over every threshhold?" she asks after a moment. "Is this to be a tradition for all new-wed couples, or for us entering a house? That might become inconvenient."

"It could. It might be fun, however." Also make everyone in the family look at them like they are nuts, but still.

"Although I suppose we should just limit it to our private threshold, perhaps..."

The rest of their families already find them both strange. Haleth cares not a whit, especially not now. "I think we may find better traditions," she says firmly. Her arms are looped around his neck, and she looks at him archly. "For now, do you intend to keep holding me up here, or shall we make use of the bed?" Her mouth twitches a little. "Unless you would prefer some different activity for the rest of the afternoon..."

"Hm. I quite enjoy having you at kissing level." He objects, pressing kisses to her lips.

"But I suppose, I should not make my lady wait too long." He grins, and drops her on the bed, dropping to follow her.

"I will still be at kissing level, in a bed." She grins back as he joins her on the bed, already reaching for him again. "And I am no lady."

"You are my lady." He kisses her, coming eagerly to her arms.

"Foolish elf." The words are fond, and she embraces him again, kissing him fervently.

"Your elf." He kisses her back, tangling his fingers in her hair with one hand as the other goes for her laces.

He knows her clothing better than she does, for he designed and made all of it, and she laughs as he quickly undoes all the laces. "So much effort put into this dress, and I have worn it for so little a time." She smiles at him, their faces still only a few inches apart. "Was it worth the weeks spent in the making to see me thus, my elf?"

Remembering early frustrations, the laces are designed to be easily undone and he smirks triumphantly as he peels the dress from her.

"Very much so." He purrs, eyes dark and bright. "For I also have the pleasure of removing it! "

"You might have done that with any clothing." She tugs at his hair, undoing his braids so she may bury her hands in the long darkness of it. The purr of his voice shivers down her spine, filling her with pleasant anticipation.

"Well yes. But it wouldn't be something I made just for you." He drops his head to nuzzle along her neck, pressing kisses with just the edge of teeth.

"It would," she says, her voice low and suddenly more husky. She tilts her head back for him. "All my clothes are made by you, for I will wear no others. Not if Vairë herself wove them."

He comes back to kiss her fondly.

"All of them? I shall have to get busy, I see!"

Her mouth tugs at his, and she looks at him through heavy-lidded eyes. "Later. Just now you have other priorities."

At least, he damn well had better.

"I suppose I should be concentrating on... more important things right now?"

"You should." She slides her hands down his sides. He's disrobed her, but not herself. She seems in no hurry to amend this, however, instead enjoying the rich fabric under her fingers.
