"After you died, and I was sure I wasn't needed to stay, I joined Father's forces as hunter and scout. For some years, the Oath was somewhat calm, but eventually...his brothers called on him to try and get a Silmaril they'd learned the location of. I left when we came in sight of the city. We knew it was time for me to go off on my own."
And she refused to become a kinslayer. She doesn't mention how horrible those last days were. How dark Caranthir's countenance had grown. How much pain he'd been in, except for when she was with him.
