It is early yet. Canien can't say how long it took before her parents finally wed and had her. But she knows it's out of her hands, really. Forcing any such thing is a fool's errand, and she is no fool.
Nor does she claim that the years of hiding herself hadn't taken a toll on her. Only that Elladan and his brother helped lift her loneliness to the point of joy. Either way, she holds her husband still in her heart, as the gentle touch to the ring indicates, even as she tucks it safely back away.
